Best Foods for Healthy Skin


Good nutrition is an important part of our lives. The food we eat determines the functioning of different parts of our body such as heart, liver, muscles and the part we are most cautious about, Skin. An unhealthy diet can cause weight gain, damage organs and metabolism and affect your mental health as the saying goes ‘’you become what you eat’’. We spend tons of money on makeup and other artificial products while totally neglecting our nutrition which is most significant for our health and how we look. Here we will tell you about the foods which are best for your skin and will keep it young for years to come.
1.     1.  Fatty Fish
Fatty fish such as salmon are really good for your skin because they are rich in omega 3 fatty acids which maintains the health of your skin. They keep your skin thick and moisturized (don’t worry, thick skin doesn’t mean they will make it look fat) because absence of omega 3 acids will make your skin dry which in turn will produce acne. These acids also protect your skin from harmful UV radiations.
2.      2. Walnuts
Walnuts like other dry fruits are really good for your skin and the overall health of your body.  They contain the fats that your body cannot produce on its own and are really essential for the health of your skin. Walnuts also have zinc which is helpful in recovery of wounds on skin. However a high intake of these nuts can have side effects so be careful.
3.     3.  Sunflower Seeds
Sunflower seeds are also a good source of vital nutrients for the skin. They contain Vitamin E, Zinc and protein.
4.      4. Sweet Potatoes
Sweet potatoes are a rich source of vitamins similar to those found in carrots, spinach and oranges. These nutrients contain antioxidants which acts as a natural sunblock for the skin keeping your skin young and healthy. Another interesting thing about it is that it will give your skin a warm color which will make it look healthier.

This one is my favorite because you can eat it raw or cook them with your meals and get all those good vitamins that you deserve. They are a rich source of Vitamin C which is really essential for your skin and will keep wrinkles at bay.

Consuming these foods will show you good results in a matter of few weeks. Apart from these foods, drinking a lot of water will keep your skin healthy, fresh and glowing. Our body is 70 percent water, so you can imagine how important it is for health. Seasonal fruits are also really good for health and good skin for which I can speak from personal experience. My favorite fruits and vegetables which I think improves the skin a lot are Oranges, Watermelons, Pomegranate, Apples, Kinnow, Carrots and Spinach.

What you eat really affects your skin and appearance. Take great care of your diet to have the glowing skin and get those nutrients we mentioned above.
